What We Believe

  • About God

He is the one true, living God, Creator of the universe, and Ruler over all creation. He has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.

  • ABOUT JESUS

He is the only begotten Son of God, co-equal with the Father and the Holy Spirit. On Earth, Jesus was fully God and fully man, born of a virgin, and lived a sinless human life. He offered Himself as a perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people and showed His power over sin and death through His resurrection. He ascended to the right hand of the Father and will return again in power and glory.

  • ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT

He is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God. He is ever-present in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus. He lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation, and through His baptism, freely given at Pentecost, releases the fullness of the Spirit. He provides Christians with spiritual gifts, power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance to do what is right. Allowing the Holy Spirit to lead daily makes it possible to truly follow God.

  • ABOUT THE BIBLE

The Bible is God’s living Word to humanity and the unified revelation of Jesus Christ and the redemption of mankind. Human authors penned it under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is absolute truth and we view it as the final authority and supreme source for all Christian beliefs and living.

  • ABOUT MAN

Human beings were created in the image of God, to be like Him in character. We were made for His glory. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are separated from God because of our sinful nature and our voluntary disobedience.

  • ABOUT SALVATION

Salvation is God’s gift of grace to us, but we must accept it. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty. When we repent from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith, we are saved from eternal death. We are adopted by God, and eternal life begins the moment we receive Jesus into our lives by faith.

  • ABOUT SANCTIFICATION

Sanctification is the ongoing process of yielding to God’s Word and His Spirit in order to complete the development of Jesus Christ’s character in us. It is by His Word and Spirit that we are able to live a Godly life.

  • ABOUT ETERNITY

People were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or eternally with God through His forgiveness and salvation. Eternal separation from God is hell. Eternal fellowship with God is heaven. Heaven and hell are literal places of eternal existence.

  • ABOUT GIVING

We practice tithing for the support of the church as God commands. We recognize that the tithe (10% of income) and free-will offerings are Biblical standards for giving.

  • ABOUT MARRIAGE

God sets a standard for marriage and sexuality, and His perfect plan for them can be found in the Bible. Human sexuality is a gift from God, and He intends a sexual relationship to be between one genetic man and one genetic woman within the covenant of marriage.
